THE FOLLOWING ARE THE RIGHTS OF THE ACCUSED:-
- THE PERSON NEEDS TO BE INFORM ABOUT THE REASON FOR HIS/ HER ARREST AT THE TIME OF ARREST.
- THE ARRESTED PERSON SHOULD BE PRESENTED BEFORE THE COURT WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE ARREST.
- THE REGISTERED PERSON SHOULD NOT BE TORTURED OR BEATEN OR SHOT BY THE POLICE.
- CONVENTIONS MADE BY THE REGISTERED PERSON IN THE CUSTODY SHOULD NOT BE USED AS EVIDENCE IN THE COURT.
- WOMENWOMEN AND CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 15 YEARS CANNOT BE CALLED TO THE POLICE STATION JUST FOR THE PURPOSE OF QUESTIONING.
