Hi,

Your answer :
The Civil Code or Code Napoléon, brings together the laws relating to civil law. It is the set of rules that determine the status of French nationals, that of property and that of relations between private persons. For the first time, in the history of France, it standardizes the rules of common life of the French. It was promulgated on March 21, 1804 (30 Ventôse year XII), by Napoleon Bonaparte under the name Code Civil des Français, it takes the name of Code Napoleon in 1807.

Since the Napoleonic Code has been modified many times to take into account the evolutions of society. It is today the foundation of the civil law of the French. He has been imitated in many countries of the world.
