Elections in India played a vital role in India democracy. Election commission of India (ECI) was made in 1950 for assure free-and-fare elections in India.

the role and liabilities of ECI has been done on the principals of article 324.

though, the main role of the supreme body is extensive in present days. they held Lokh Sabha, state assembly and panchayat elections in the span of particular years.

Election commission have much more responsibilities and functions today, they have to do updating voter list, allot voter ID cards, distributing logos of political parties, planning various types of elections and bye- elections in India.

it also guard political parties bay from interfering in to the republican system.

the highest power of ECI is endless, as it is uncommitted of political parties and not cramped by the government.

ever then it can be vanquish by the parliament.

if any mistake and misbehave or failure proved then ECI can dismissed by the parliament. two-third majority of both houses of parliament must validate the dismissal of the ECI.
