Biology is the science which studies about living organisms and there parts. The terms used in biology are vast in number also many Latin words and Greek words, their suffixes or prefixes are used in biology as they are used in other subjects. Some of the words formed by Latin or Greek root words are abiotic (where A is a Greek prefix), Genetics (where geno- is a Greek prefix) and similarly there are various words formed by the greek or latin root words.

Some of them are as follows :

1. Epi - epidermis (Prefix)

2. Homo - homozygous (Prefix)

3. Hetero - heterozygous (Prefix)

4. Hypo - hypotonic (Prefix)

5. Locus (is a whole word)

6. Macro - macrophage (Prefix)

8. Phil - hydrophilic (Suffix)
