The contribution of moderates is commendable and consistent throughout the Indian national movement.
Adopted two pronged strategy viz.
1) Creating a public consciousness and a sense of awakening against the British rule.
2) Adopting constitutional methods to pressurize British to ultimately make them grant freedom to India.
Role played by moderates includes the following actions:
1) Critique of economic policies of British towards India. Dadabhai Nowroji's commendable Drain Theory. Spread awareness of how the vagaries of British markets and their domestic policies affect india.
2) Constitutional Reforms:
2.1) For increased representation of Indians in Legislature and decision making.
2.2) For increased control over finances and larger allocation coupled with fiscal autonomy to provinces.
2.3) Demand for self government like self governing colonies like Canada....
