It consists of a lipid bilayer with embedded proteins. The basicfunction of the cell membrane is to protect the cell from its surroundings. The cell membrane controls the movement of substances in and out ofcells and organelles. In this way, it is selectively permeable to ions and organic molecules.

the role of plasma membrane are as follows

1)Plasma membrane separates the components of the cell from its outside environment.

2)It regulates what enters and exits the cell.

3) Plasma membrane serves as a base of attachment for the cytoskeleton in some organisms and cell walls in other organisms. Thus it supports the cell and helps in maintaining the shape of the cell.

the roll of nucleus are as follows

1) Storage of hereditary material, the genes in the form of long and thin DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) strands, referred to as chromatin.

2)Storage of proteins and RNA (ribonucleic acid) in the nucleolus.

3)Nucleus is a site for transcription in which messenger RNA (mRNA) are produced for protein synthesis.
