newton took a glass prism and passed white light through it and from the other face of prism dispersed light came out.

Newton was one of the greatest scientists and inventors of the all time.Light spectrum is one of the best inventions of him.
He used a very simple setup to obtain a light spectrum.
He simply used a glass made prism and let the sunlight to be passed from that prism ,which created a simple light spectrum of seven colours (VIBGYOR).
