The normal temperature of the testes in the scrotum is about 2-3 degree lower than the internal body temperature.
this slightly lower temperature is the ideal temperature for the development of sperms.

The testes require a cool temperature for successful sperm production. So they are placed outside the abdominal cavity so that they temperature remains cool and airy so that they can produce sperms.
