Explain the significance of the following-
(1) apical Meristem (2)chlorenchyma
(3)Areolar tissue
Answers
Apical Meristem Function. The apical meristem, found just below the surface of the branches and roots furthest from the center of the plant, is continually dividing. Some cells divide into more meristematic cells, while other cells divide and differentiate into structural or vascular cells.2)is special, because it contains chlorophyll- the green coloured pigment that is responsible for photosynthesis. All cells in parenchyma have similar function as it is a simple permanent tissue, hence all cells in chlorenchyma , apart from filling bulk space, performs an additional task of photosynthesis.3) Jump to Areolar tissue · Function. Areolar connective tissues hold organs in place and attaches epithelial tissue to other underlying tissues. It also serves as a reservoir of water and salts for surrounding tissues. Almost all cells obtain their nutrients from and release their wastes into areolar connective tissue
