Indian economy is mostly based on services, with huge importance to agriculture and manufacturing. It consumes a lot more oil than it produces, which has led to minimal impact of low oil prices.
Brazil currently has a better standard of living than India, with higher GDP per capita, less pollution, less water/power shortages.
But they have a much bigger problem with crime, drugs and murder. Brazilian cities have among the worst crime and murder in the world.
Both governments have historic levels of corruption and incompetence. Though it seems that the current Modi government in India is turning this around (we’ll wait and see if that is long lasting).

Similarities in population distribution in Brazil and India:
I. In both the countries the distribution of population is uneven.
II. In both the countries the density of population is less in the northernmost, central and South Western regions.
III. In India the density of population is less in the states of Sikkim, Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh.
IV. Similarly in Brazil the density of population is less in the state of Amapa located in the Northern region.
V. In India the density of population is less in Madhya Pradesh located in the central region
VI. Similarly in Brazil the density of population is less in Mato Grosso located in the central region.
VII. In India the density of population is less in the Thar Desert due to Extreme climatic conditions in the North Western region.

I. In India the Ganga basin is densely populated whereas in Brazil the Amazon basin is sparsely populated.
II. According to 2011 Census in India the density of population was 382 persons per square kilometer on the other hand in Brazil the density of population was only 23 persons per square kilometer.
