  • India is a diverse country that produces many types of crops these are grouped into food grains as the Rice, the Wheat, Maize, and Millets and the Pulses.
  • Other important cash crops are the Cotton, Jute, Sugarcane, Tobacco, and Oilseeds, The whole the important plantation crops are the Tea, Coffee, Coconut and, Rubber.
  • The rice being a dominant Kharif crop covers a third of the cultivable area of the country and top producers are the west Bengal, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.  
  • Wheat is the second important crop of India, and is a rabi crop and is a staple food crop in the west and northwestern India and mostly grown on the states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana.
  • Millets a Kharif crop is used as food and fodder is included the Jawar, Bajra, Ragi, etc this is called as dryland crop the three states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Rajasthan are man producers.
  • Pulses the leguminous crops as Gram, Tur or the arhar
  • Cotton as important, fibre crop is a Kharif and a rainfed crop found covering the Black soils of the Deccan and the Malwa plateau.
