explain the similarity and difference in two events namely adding naoh to water and adding cao to water ?? dont copy form net

On addition of water to naoh,it breaks down unto na+ and oh- ions...the reaction is highly exothermic....On the other hand cao reacts with water to form caoh2.This reaction is also exothermic and the water in the mixture of reactants evaporate.
