Explain the similarity and different in two events , namely adding NaOH to water and adding CaO to water.​

Similarity: Both events are exothermic

Difference: NaOH in water

  1. No chemical reaction takes place
  2. an aqueous solution is formed

Adding CaOH in water

  1. A chemical reaction takes place
  2. The following reaction takes place

CaO + H2O ----> Ca(OH)2 + heat
