The rise in population is the main cause of the change in London. It made the housing more difficult. Many people were working in the industries of London. So all of them couldnt be accomodated properly. People sought for an alternative which was transportation. If transports were present, then they would travel to thier workplace from thier hometown. Finally, the underground railways was introduced in the 1860s.
