Q1. 22.44 kJ energy is required to convert 8 gm of gaseous atom of metal M to M+ g

if I.E. 1 of metal M =

374 kJ/ mole. Select correct for above metal M.
a) 0.6 mole gaseous ion (M+) are formed

b) same energy can convert all M+ (g) to M2+ (g)

c) Atomic mass of metal = 133.33

d) 3.613 × 10^22 atoms of M are converted to M+ (g).

M → M+ + e–
374 kJoule amount of energy required to remove electrons from 1 mole of M .

again,
22.44 kjoule amount of energy required to convert 8 gm M to M+
Let atomic weight of M = A
mole = 8/A
For 8/A mole , 22.44 KJ energy required
1 mole ,____________ 22.44 × A/8 LJ
but for 1 mole __________ 374 KJ

so, 374 = 22.44 × A/8
A = 374 × 8/22.44
= 34 × 8/2.04
= 133.33

hence, atomic weight of M = 133.33 g/mol

no of mole = 8/133.33 = 0.06
no of atom of M = no of mole × 6.023 × 10²³
= 0.06 × 6.023 × 10²³
= 3.613 × 10²²

hence, option ( C) and option ( D) is correct
