plastid are the sites of photosynthesis chloroplasts are called green plastids.
It is a double membranous organelle which consists of a transparent surace called stroma[like the cytoplasm of a cell,it is the grana of the chloroplast].
It consists of thylakoids which are stacked together and called granum.they contain chlorophyll.Each granum is connected to one other by a stromal lamellae or FRET.Besides grana,thylakoids and FRET,stroma also consists of lipid globules,chloroplast ribosomes,starch grain,loop of DNA,etc...
