The Earth is composed of a layered structure. Earth is made up of core, mantle, and crust.

The inner core of the earth is solid whereas the outer core is liquid. Mantle is of solid or plastic because of the melting points of the different layers like nickel and silicate crust.

The crust is formed up of tectonic plates. At the plate boundaries, earthquakes and volcanoes occur mostly.
