Explanation:

When a rope is massless, it transfers the force from one end to other perfectly. For instance, if a person pulls a massless rope with a force of 20 N, the block also experiences a force of 20 N. All massless ropes experience two opposite and equal tension forces.

Answer:

A wooden block is suspended with the help of a string and it's free end is tied to the ceiling

we know that the wooden block would fall down due to gravitational pull off the earth if the string is broken

for a wooden block tied to the string ,gravity pulls down the wooden block all the time but it does not fall down because it is supported by the string

Thus, there exists a force which supports the wooden block against gravity by pulling it upwards

it is called "Tension " . it always pulls the body upwards along the string

Tension force is a contact force

Thank you hope it helps you it's very long but is good
