Dear Student,

◆ Autotrophs -

  • Organisms which produce their own food from raw materials are called autotrophs.
  • They are independent of other organisms for survival.
  • They produce by the process called photosynthesis and have chlorophyll for that.
  • They can be either photoautrophs or chemoautotrophs.
  • For example, plants, algae, bacteria, etc.

# Difference between plants and animals in terms of nutrition -

  • Plants have autotrophic nutrition and produce food on their own.
  • Animals have heterotrophic nutrition and consume ready-made food from plants.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
