ANSWER

Chimeric DNA is just another name for Recombinant DNA which is basically a hybrid DNA segment made by ligating different DNAportions after extracting and cleaving them from their respective sources using various enzymes like Resriction Endonucleases, DNA Ligase etc.

Answer:

Chimeric DNA is a Recombinant DNA that is a hybrid created by the ligation process of a number of DNA parts and using enzymes namely Ligase, Endonuclease, and others.

Explanation:

  • The DNA molecules that are created after genetically recombining a number of DNA particles from a range of sources, and by sequencing in a manner that would not be present in nature, is the final creation of chimeric DNA or more commonly known as the recombinant DNA.
  • The unique sequences are conducted to create new gene sequences and creation of never before seen genes.
  • In human fertilization, humans chimera can be formed when a fetus absorbs its own twin fetus and thereby has DNA from two different sources.
