The term creamy layer is used for the relatively wealthier and better-educated members of the backward classes. It is argued that they should not continue to avail the benefits of reservations as they are rich and educated .

Creamy layer is a term used in Indian politics to refer to the relatively forward and better educated members of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) who are not eligible for government-sponsored educational and professional benefit programs. creamy layer is a margin of money if you have annual income above the creamy layer you are not eligible for any type of reservation

It is argued that they should not continue to avail the benefits of reservations as they are rich and educated .
