hey mate!!
here is ur answer

REACTANT
those who present on the left side of an arrow and are more in number are called reactants.
it is a simple molecule and combines to form product.

PRODUCT
those who present on the right side of an arrow and seems to be combined molecule.it is a complex molecule.product are formed by the combination of reactants.

EXAMPLE- H2+cl2------------->2hcl

here,H2 and cl2 are reactants and are more in number and are simple molecule.

2hcl are product less in number and complex compound.

Answer:

  1. The substances taking part in chemical reaction are called reactant. This are always written on the left hand side of chemical equation.
  2. The substances formed as a result of a chemical reaction by formation of new bonds are called products. This are always written on the right hand side of the chemical equation.
  3. Example: Formation carbon dioxide gas by combustion of coal in air is a chemical reaction. In this reaction, coal(carbon) and oxygen (from air) are the reactant while carbon dioxide is the product.

C + O2 ------> CO2

(carbon) (oxygen) (carbondioxide)

In the above equation C+O2 is the reactant because it's written on the left hand side of the equation whereas CO2 is the product as it written on the right hand side of the chemical equation.
