Regeneration is the type of asexual reproduction. It is the growth of an organism from a part of the body. ... Hydra exhibits Morphallaxis type of regeneration. In this type of regeneration the lost part is replaced by the change in the tissues present in the lost part and each injured part forms a complete organism.

Regeneration is carried out by specialised cells. These cells form a mass of cells which undergo changes to form cells specialised in different functions. In hydra, if the body is cut into half, the lower part will develop head while the upper part will develop a new foot.
