The Pentium processor has 2 separate 8-kilobyte (KB) caches on chip one for instructions and another for data.
It permits the Pentium processor to get data and instructions from the cache simultaneously.
Pentium processor has 2 primary operating modes -
Protected Mode - This mode all instructions and architectural features are available providing highest performance and capability.
Real-Address Mode - This mode gives the programming environment of Intel 8086 processor with few extensions.
