hii.....

A neuron is a microscopic structure composed of three major parts, namely, cell body, dendrites and axon. The dendrites are the short fibres which project out of the cell body and transmit impulses towards the cell body. The axon is a long fibre that transmits nerve impulses away from the cell body to a synapse or to a neuro-muscular junction.

The three main parts of a neuron are the axon, dendrite, and cell body. The axon conducts messages away from the cell body. The dendrite receives information from the next cell and conducts it towards the cell body. The cell body contains the nucleus, mitochondria, and other organelles. It is mainly concerned with maintenance and growth of the cell.

Function:

Neurons are the basic building blocks of the nervous system. They are specialized for the conduction of nerve impulses in the body.
