While the national assembly was busy at Versailles drafting the constitution, the rest of the France seethed with turmoil in following ways :—

  1. A severe winter had made a bad harvest, resulting in rising price of bread does, the situation was exploited by bakers and hoarded supplies. Angry woman stoned into the shops after standing for long hours in bakery queues.
