Since planets are quite near the earth in the comparison wiyh the stars, the do not act as point sources but behave like extended sources. Planets may be considered as collection of large number of point sized sources of light. The total net deviation in amount of light entering our eyes from different point sources is zero. Therefore nonet twinkling of planets.

Stars twinkle because of the phenomenon called atmospheric refraction. When starlight comes from stars and enter the ea

rth's atmosphere then it bends at different layers of atmosphere because each layer has different density and when light enters the observer's eye the amount of light going to continue increase or decrease so this leads to stars twinkle but planets were close to the earth as compared to stars so when light rays comes from planet there are less layers of earth atmosphere so light doesn't bend too much and several rays from a same planet nullify the twinkling effect so planets don't twinkle.
