$\textbf{Democracy :}$ It is a form of government in which citizens have right to choose their representatives and final decision making power resides with those who are elected by the citizens of the country.

Abraham Lincoln defined democracy as a government that is By the people, Of the people and For the people.

$\textbf{Metits of Democracy :}$

◾ The democracy promotes Equality and put some limits on government working. This makes democracy more accountable and responsive. As all citizens have equal Rights, it maintains their dignity too.

◾ In democracy the constitution is considered as the supreme power, this helps in achieving a better governing and judicial system in the country.



$\textbf{Demerits of Democracy :}$

◾ In this leaders keep changing. This leds to political instability in the country.

◾ The procedure of taking decisions takes a long time as it has to be passed by many levels.
