Pancreas Gland :

⇒ It is the second largest gland present near duodenal loop.It has both exocrine and endocrine parts.

⇒Pancreas is located in the abdomen and it is parts of the digestive system and produce insulin and other important enzymes and hormones that help in break down of food.

⇒The pancreas also produces the hormone insulin and secrets it into the bloodstream , where it regulates the body's  glucose or sugar level.This increase secretion of glucose leads to diabetes mellitus.

Endocrine Parts → It consists of groups of islelets of langerhans . It consists of 3 types of cell .

Alpha cells  : They produce glucagon hormone which convert glucagon into glucose in the liver .

Beta cells : They produce insulin hormone which converts glucose into glycogen in the liver and the muscles.

Delta cells  : They secrete somatostatine hormone which ixhibs the secretion of glucagon by alpha cells % Secretion of insulin nutrients from the gastrointestinal tract.
