Meristematic tissues are continuously dividing tissue and are present in all living plant cells.
Based on where it is present, it can be divided into three:
1. Apical meristem: is found at the apex ( the shoot and root tip). It helps in elongation.
2. Lateral meristem: is find at the sides of the plant body and hence are found there. It’s helps in increasing the girth ( the circumference) of plant.
3. Intercalary meristem: is fount at the nodes and help in increasing the length too.
