Moving a magnet towards a coil sets up a current in the coil circuit,
(ii) If a coil is moved rapidly between the two poles of a horse-shoe magnet, then an electric current is induced in the coil.

Explanation:

The induced emf in the coil is given by the rate of charge of magnetic flux in it. It is given by :

\epsilon=\dfrac{d\phi}{dt}\\\\\epsilon=\dfrac{d(NBA)}{dt}

Also,

\epsilon=IR

R is resistance and I is induced current

I=\dfrac{1}{R}\dfrac{d(NBA)}{dt}

So, the methods of producing induced currents are :

1. On increasing number of turns in the coil

2. Magnetic field

3. Are of cross section.
