An instrument used to measure pressure of liquids is known as pressure gauge . Manometer is the simplest form of pressure gauge , that is used to measure the pressure difference. It consists of vertical U-shaped glass tube, filled with the liquid or Mercury ,mounted on a stand against a marked scale . One of the end of the U-shaped is left free, wild other end is connected to a flexible tube . The far end of the flexible tube is connected or joined at the point where the pressure inside a liquid has to be measured. The liquid pressure is measured in terms of difference in height of liquid column in the limbs of the U-tubes .
