Answer:

The working of a microwave oven is as follows:

1. Microwave oven is made up of aluminium metal box which cannot pass the radiation and uses magnetron, a microwave generator. When you switch on microwave oven for cooking the food, the magnetron receives electricity from the power outlet and converts it into high-powered radio waves.

2. The microwave oven has a waveguide, turntable and a timer switch. When the food enters inside the chamber and the timer is switched on, it sends a command to the magnetron for sending microwaves to the turntable to start rotating. The microwaves heat food which has water molecules

3. When the oven is on, it sends microwaves which touch the water molecules

4. After this, the water molecules start vibrating at a very high speed and produce heat. The turntable rotates and food is heated calmly.
