Three features of Indian electoral process are as follows -

• The whole process of the Indian elections is controlled by the "Election Commission of India". All the major decisions about the Indian elections can be independently taken by this commission.
• To prevent illegal fake voting and to count votes at a faster rate, the "Electronic Voting Machine" or "EVM" became one of the most important features of the Indian elections. (since 2004)
• The "NOTA" or "None of the above" option is provided on the list of political parties on the EVM. This is an important feature for those who don't have faith on the all existing political parties.
