the Congress under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi decide to start a non cooperation movement which was a non violent movements it was decided that no one should co-operate with the government.

student boycotted school and colleges lowest boycotted love quotes patients refused to pay text and government servants left government jobs.

the movement become violent in 1922.
Twenty two police man was burnt alive by the Satyagraha at Chauri Chaure up when did news reach Gandhiji he called off the movement.

there was some people who believed that freedom could be achieved only through violent methods .

Gandhiji proposed that :
(i) The movement should unfold in stages. It should begin with the surrender of titles awarded by the government.
(ii) Then a boycott of civil services, army, police, courts and legislative councils, schools and foreign goods.

(iii) Then, in case the government used repression, a full disobedience campaign would be launched
