relief rainfall: when the moisten ladden wind is obstructed by a relief barrier or a mountain it gets forced to move up and cools down followed by condensation and precipitation in the form of relief rainfall.
convenctional rainfall: when the air comes in contact with hot surface of the earth it gets heaten up and becomes light and rise in the form of air current.when this warm air reaches the uppermost layer of the atmosphere it expand and loses heat. this leads to condensation and form cumulus clouds. these clouds produce sudden and heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightening.
