Estimating poverty is different from eliminating it. Poverty in India can be estimated by determining a few aspects of social condition:-

Population check: The census tells us about the overpopulation problem in India which leads to money shortage.

Lack of birth control: Poor people do not have the financial strength to support their family and yet do not control the number of members added.

This leads to faulty upbringing.

Lack of government provision: The government is yet to cover for all below poverty level people.
