The term is also widely used for the different process of coating a metal with solder before soldering.  They are now made of steel, either Bessemer steel or open-hearth.

Tinning method:-

=> A method in which metal is coated with molten tin.

For example:-

Copper & brass vessels, articles get coated with green coloured layer when kept exposed to air for long time due to corrosion. This can be prevented by coating these articles with thin layer of tin.
