Plants have conducting tissues made up of elongated thick-walled cells.

There are two types of conducting tissues:

Xylem- These tissues are spread from top to bottom of the plants and transport water from roots to the upper parts of the part. They play an important role in transporting dissolved substances from roots to aerial parts.

Phloem- These vascular tissues transport the products of photosynthesis from leaves to the other parts of the plants.
