The two irrigation techniques used in India are the Basin or surface  Irrigation and Drip Irrigation.

  • Basin irrigation is the process in which we will first fill the land or field with enough quantity of water.

  • Drip irrigation is used when the plants or crops will require less amount of water for their growth.
  • This is done by sowing the seeds or roots of the plant which we want to grow first and then the pipes having holes will be fixed in their position and the water is pumped through these piped.
  • The water will fall on the land drop-by-drop where the seeds are placed.
