There is no specific type of chloroplast but it is one of the parts of plastid that is characterised by the chlorophyll high concentration and two membranes.

Another one is leucoplast and chromoplast with a small amount of chlorophyll.

It also has no hand in the process of photosynthesis due to lack of chlorophyll in it.
