1. DNA - Polymerase I:- This was discovered by Kornberg in 1957. So it is also called as 'Kornberg's enzyme. In the laboratory Komberg is the synthesizing DNA first of all. This enzyme functions as exonuclease. It helps in separation of RNA - primer from DNA and also helpful in filling the gaps. That's why is is also called as DNA - repair enzyme.
(2) DNA - Polymerase II:- It is also helpful in DNA - repairing in absence of DNA-polymerase-I and DNA polymerase-lII.
(3) DNA - Polymerase III:- This is the most important enzyme type in DNA - Replication. It is most important. The larger chains are formed by this enzyme. This is also known as Replicase.
