The elements in periodic table which have fixed oxidation states are known as typical elements.

The periodic tables are divided into different blocks, out of which the elements in P and S blocks are typical elements.

Helium, lithium, neon, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen etc. are some of the examples of typical elements which are also known as third period elements.

Elements of period 3 are called typical elements .

They are so called as these elements can be referred to study the periodic properties of other elements.

Hope it helps!!
