HERE IS YOUR ANSWER
if the wind is blowing in a direction, that direction is the windward direction. If the wind is blowing towards some direction, that is the leeward direction.
Lee ward side is the drier side or otherwise the side which gets no wind because of the presence of a mountain i.e. the mountains just block the wind..while windward side gets wind because of its presence in the opp. side of the lee ward side .
