As the sun warms the Earth's surface, the atmosphere warms too. ... Warm air, which weighs less than cold air, rises. Then cool air moves in and replaces the rising warm air. This movement of air is what makes the wind blow.

pressure difference.
suppose ...near a coastal are land gets heated more faster than water, so the is warm air over the land which rises up due to its low density.. while cold air comes frm the other side to take its place. the process goes on allowing allowing the winds to blow.
there r many other reasons too which help wind to blow...
