When too much water stands in the field and accumulates around the roots is called water logging. It damages the crop because of the following reasons:
- Water logging reduces air in the spaces between soil particles. This cuts of oxygen supply to root unable them to breathe, and get damaged.
- It also increases the amount of soils in the soil that reduces soil fertility.
