It goes into the bloodstream, throught the hepatic portal vein, to he liver, where they are either changed to glycogen (if blood glucose level is high), or they pass through the hepatic vein, to the vena cava, to the heart. It then circulates around the body in the bloodstream and is taken up by body cells for aerobic respiration.
