Answer:

Answer:

Electrolysis of water in splitting of water into hydrogen and oxygen

Basically it is a decomposition reaction in which a compounds breaks down into two or more simpler substances

(In this case, decomposition reaction takes place in presence of electricity)

Explaination

During reaction hydrogen ions gathered on cathode (negatively charged) and oxygen ions is gathered on anode (positively charged).this is so because oppositely charged particles attract each other

Ovr these two electrons inverted test tubes are placed to collect the respective gases with a connection of cell or battery with it along with on switch mode

OBSERVATION:amount of gas collected in one testtube is more than that of other or we further say double to other

That is hydrogen gas

Reason: water consists of hydrogen nd oxygen in the ratio 2:1 i.e. two atoms of hydron nd one atom of oxygen

This is proved to be our conclusion further

Reaction is pinned here

Hope it will help u
