Docterine of lapse is the procedure done by the britishers when they were in India which is the adopted son of any kings and queens can't be the successor of the throne after him or her this is called docterine of lapse

When the ruler dies his empire is given in British's hands. The adopted son were not given the nawab's post. The territories annexed were Udaipur Satara Sambalpur Nagpur and Jhansi
