An element's valence is the number of hydrogen atoms which can combine with or replace (directly or indirectly) one of the element's atoms.

Example :

Answer:

Valency is the combining capacity of the atoms of an element with the atoms of other elements to form molecules. Eg- Sodium has valency 1 and Chlorine has valency 1, they combine together to form Sodium Chloride (NaCl) or Common Salt.
